Last day of quarantine

Hi Blog...

Sorry for abandoning you for the past few weeks... I have been really busy and we got quarantine due to h1n1...

Edel got very high fever Sat, 1st Aug, her temp is as high as 39.9 and it really worried us, Hubby sent her to Emergency ward at QEH at 3.30 am, Dr prescribed paracetamol and antibiotik and let her go around 6.30am... Her fever did not go down, she did not developed any flu-like symptoms but coughing constantly and vomiting... everything she took she'd vommit and she was really weak, on Mon, 3rd Aug, Hubby brought her for H1N1 screening, at first Dr is reluctant as she did not show any flu-like symptoms only high fever, but Hubby insisted. Her fever only broke on the 5th Aug, and she is getting her appetite back, and she is about to attend school on Friday the 7th when suddenly we GOT the news at 2pm on thursday 6th that she is POSITIVE H1N1, that really freaked me out.... I was in the middle of a meeting in Le Meridien, I stood up and told the Pengerusi Majlis that I have to excuse myself from the meeting as my daughter was found to be H1N1 positive... What a shocker!!! and I learnt from my friend that the meeting was postponed as soon as I walked out...

We immediately send Edel to Klinik Kesihatan Luyang and was taken by ambulance to Hospital Likas, I thought she would not be admitted as her condition has improved but I was wrong she was immediately taken to Melor Ward to be isolated in H1N1 Isolation Ward. There were about 8 people inside, also found to be positive and 3 of them with high complication, 1 just came out from ICU... scarry, but, when the specialist came the evening of 7th, she said that Edel can be discharge and self-quarantine at home as her condition is well, all she need to do is to finish up the tamiflu medicaiton and stay home for 10 days to curb the spreading of the Germs and generally she is in good health... I was relief to hear this...

And when Crystal develop the same symptoms, we did the same as Edel's thanks to Hubby who is very persistent and She is not admitted at the hospital but given tamiflu and today is her last dosage of tamiflu and she is doing just as fine as Edel...

Amazingly, Jade has not develop any of the symptoms, Dr said she is immune to H1N1 so, praise the LORD... we survive this plague without any complications at all!!!!

  1. Oh my gosh, Shern! So sorry to hear about the terrifying ordeal with H1N1! Am glad your husband was very persistent. Just goes to show how much you need to trust your instincts! I hope your girls and both you and hubby are out of this situation by now. Now, the processes of picking up where you left off... God bless... take care!
